Create a holiday table in 15 minutes without breaking the bank
December is the season for entertaining, but it is also the busiest time of year. Between baking, decorating and shopping, creating a festive Holiday table falls low on the priority list.
Do not be discouraged. It is possible to create a warm and elegant tablescape in less than 15 minutes. It doesn't have to break the bank or require Martha Stewart level skills.
The key is to decide on a 2-3 colors scheme. In this case, champagne, silver, and ivory were the colors emphasized.
Look around and use items that you already have, including votive or pillar candles, a few Christmas ornaments, and a large vase or platter to display some festive items.
Keep items below eye level so you can easily talk and see the person across from you.
An Advent wreath is a traditional way to honor the 4 weeks leading up to Christmas, by lighting an additional candle around the wreath every Sunday. A group of pillar candles on a gold or silver serving tray is another option that will provide warm ambiance to the table.
Give each placesetting a WOW effect by wrapping decorative ribbon and an ornament around the napkin.
Shop the Look
There are so many festive table runners for the holidays from a champagne sequin for high glam to a burlap snowflake embroidered print. A table runner is the foundation to your tablescape.
You cannot go wrong with white dinnerware.
Fine bone china provides a simple elegance to any tablesetting. No matter how often you use china, it always delivers a beautiful setting. I must admit that I finally ditched my everyday dishes, and use my Rosenthal dishes for every day.
Stainless Steel Flatware:
The Oneida Sheraton flatware set shown in the photo has been in use for 17 years. It is an elegant timeless style that appears relatively new despite daily use. The other two recommendations are modern flatware styles that provide simple elegance to the table.
The ribbon used on the table was from Costco, so 3 options at Amazon are included that would be beautiful choices.
